This is for those who are currently in a relationship…but don’t really want to be.
I mean…you want to be in a relationship with your mate/fiancé/spouse, but you don’t want to be in a relationship with them the way things are right now. The communication issues. The distrust. The lack of respect. The lack of sexual intimacy. None of you wants to go into 2016 the same way you’re leaving 2015. Ain’t nobody getting younger. And don’t nobody want to waste time, energy, and emotion in a relationship where you’re not feeling the reciprocation.
Last week’s #WednesdayWisdom I talked about using these last few weeks of 2015 to get in the mental, spiritual, emotional, and educational head-space to receive what you’re expecting the Lord to do for you in 2016. How’s that going for you? Did you do anything different?
If you haven’t, then stop pussy-footin’ around. How do you expect to grow and do more if you don’t grow and do better. Or are you’re hopes and dreams just that…hopes and dreams.
Listen…I tell my clients this all the time; whether your relationship succeeds or fails, we are not benefited or harmed either way. I’ll still have a job and a mortgage to pay, I’ll still be married, I’m still going to heaven, etc. So…what I say…I say with no ulterior motives or reciprocal expectations.
Know…I genuinely want your relationship to succeed. I don’t want it to fail. I am purposed to challenge…and help you…aggressively seek and obtain the plans God has for you — plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future. But you won’t succeed if you don’t get serious about doing something different. Because what you’re doing ain’t working!
And I get how…sometimes the known feels safer than the risky unknown. Or maybe you’ve already tried something different and got knocked down. So you’re scared or reluctant to try something different again. But you must try something different if you want to realize those plans God has for you. It doesn’t have to be grand or over-the-top. Just make the most of every opportunity…specifically, these last few weeks of 2015.
Last week, my wife and I resumed our weekly biblestudy together. We hadn’t done this in over seven years. We felt very close to one another afterwards. Additionally, instead of having a business planning-session, I did a business praying-session. I wanted to pray and find out what the Lord’s will is for my business in 2016 before I put plan to paper. It wasn’t over-the-top super-spiritual. But it helped me get my mind and spirit focused on the source of my purpose…not the outcome of it.
Consider this #WednesdayWidsom an encouraging kick in the pants from your brother-from-another-mother who wants your relationship to succeed.
