Thanks to everyone that provided some a destination. We got some very interesting ones so far. Shout out to Mia, Pierre, Peter, Ben, Devin, Cynthia, Jill, and Jay for your suggestions.
I’ve had some people tell me they would get back to me with their suggestions. Shawty…don’t think too hard. It’s not that serious. Just drop your suggestion in the comment box below.
“I love what you are doing.”
“Love you guys.”
“Y’all are hilarious!”
These are just some of the comments we are receiving from people in the HLHT community. We appreciated you all so much! Bernie and I are simply trying to do the things that make marriage FUN for us. Because marriage should fun be…right? We got married 19 years ago because we both found someone we wanted to spend the rest of our lives enjoying one another and making each other happy. But once life kicks…and you got bills, work, career advancement moves, children to parent (children to mentor…in my case), parents to care for, side hustles to develop — and don’t forget the umph-teen church ministry you volunteered for…marriage ends up operating like a Amazon shipment processing warehouse…not a loving relationship between two people. And ‘enjoying one another‘ takes a back seat to the operational roles and responsibilities therein.
One of our close friends put it this way,
“Life is too hard. The ‘Fun Factor’ is a necessity in all marriages.”
AGREED!!! And that’s why Bernie and I are intentionally prioritizing the ‘Fun Factor’ in our marriage.
Hence…the roadtrips. Hence, the need for your suggestions of some fun, intriguing destinations. So…real quick…input your suggestion in the comments box below.
Thank you for sharing with us as we embark on this new adventure in our marriage.

His Leadership Her Trust:
Leadership is Not Person-Specific (Authority) – Pt. 2
2. Leadership is Not Person-Specific (Leadership is Not Authority) Just as a leader is not character specific, leadership is not person-specific either. The existence of an organization and the leadership therein, does not dictate who the leader is. Anyone in an...
Leadership is Not Directions-Specific – Pt. 3
3. Leadership is Not Directions-Specific Pt. 3 Remember, leadership is the process of influencing the movement of a group toward a particular outcome. In my pickup basketball example, it doesn't matter whether Mr. Hot-Hand was a good leader or a bad one, he was...
Leadership is Not Outcome-Specific or Purpose-Specific – Pt. 4 & 5
4. Leadership is Not Outcome-Specific We can agree that my pick-up basketball team definitely had leadership…Mr. Hot Hand. And my team won the game. But what if we lost? Was there still leadership present? Of course! For leadership is not outcome-specific. Losing...
While I Was Reading This Morning…
Reading this morning about trust…came across a phrase that blew my mind! It reminded me of some of my past experiences in church. It also reminded me about the expectations couples in their relationships. Had to share. The value that others accord members for their...
Parable: My Wife Can’t Cook!
Your wife cooks her famous pot-roast for dinner. She’s got some potatoes, your favorite vegetable, corn bread, and your favorite beverage. You know you’re about to throw-down. You sit down. Take a nice huge fork-full of potatoes and roast. Shove it in your mouth and...
Is It Okay for Women To Propose To Men?
One thing I don’t do is watch Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta. But my lunch-time crew at work does. They talk about it in such detail that I feel like I watch it. Nonetheless, when I found out that some chic, Joseline, asked her boyfriend, Stevie J, to marry her…I can’t...
