God created man and woman. He created them to have sex with each other as husband and wife. He called that marriage.
But then man decides…I want to have sex with my wife and another woman too. God called that adultery, or in some cases…an orgy.
Then man decided…I don’t want to have sex with women anymore, I want to have sex with men. God called that homosexuality.
Now here’s where it gets interesting.
Now man decides…I’m not really a man, but a woman trapped in a man’s body. So I’m gonna dress like a woman, change my body to look like a woman, change my name to a woman’s name, and insist society referred to me as a woman. And if that’s not confusing enough for you, now man is saying…’I don’t know if I’m a man or woman. I’ll just choose my identity based on how I feel today.’
I don’t know what God called that. But It’s no surprise that with all this transitioning, now…Caitlyn Jenner is rumored to be considering changing back to Bruce in the next couple of years because she/he is “…still into women and wants to meet the right one” according to Fox News.
In all these transitions, society is expected to be understanding of their decisions. But this latest turn of events got society in an uproar. The Obama administration issued guidance directing public schools to allow transgender students to use bathrooms according to their gender identity. And if schools refuse, then they could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid for their school.
Hold up! Wait…What?
Here’s Some Background
North Carolina Bathroom Issue
- February 2016: Charlotte, NC. passed an ordinance that allowed transgender people to use the bathroom corresponding to the gender with which they identify (i.e., Caitlyn Jenner can use the women’s bathroom because she identifies herself as a woman).
- March 2016: the NC. Legislature overturned Charlotte’s ordinance and passed a law mandating students in state schools use bathrooms corresponding to the gender on their birth certificate.
Here Comes the Feds
- May 2016: the Justice Department issued guidance that said…under the current law, sex discrimination includes prohibiting transgendered people from using the bathroom according to the gender identity they choose.
A Battle on Two Fronts
On a humanity front …I respect every man’s right to transition between sexes all they want. But on a spiritual front, this is a smack in the face of God’s original plan for man and woman as husband and wife. Furthermore, I believe it’s an attack to steal, kill, and destroy God’s function and design of the God-fearing family.
If the enemy can convince men to marry other men, and women other women…and deceive men to think it’s acceptable to switch back and forth between man and women…then God’s purpose and design of family (be fruitful and multiply, subdue the earth, and rule over it) is completely nullified. Children won’t be born into God-fearing families. The familial structure of man and woman will be diluted to include an ‘all-the-above’ model.
This Obama directive will probably become law. Just as same-sex marriage was first rejected in 2000, by 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution allows for same-sex couples to marry.
What Should God-Fearing Families Do?
What does this mean for God-fearing families? What should we start doing to prepare our families?
- Know Who You’re Fighting Against. Although you might disagree with the transgender bathroom agenda, you’re enemy isn’t the transgendered person in your school or office. You’re fighting against the rulers, authorities, and powerful dark spiritual forces of evil [on earth] and in the spiritual realm (Ephesians 6:12).
- Know your rights. Don’t bury your head in the sand because you don’t understand this overall topic. This will ultimately affect your family. Read up on the what’s going on about this movement…so you know how to fight against it.
- Know How to Fight. Contact your congressman/woman to let your objection be known. After you’ve done that, apply your faith to your works and fight against the spiritual forces with prayer. God-fearing saints have spiritual power to bring down strongholds, demolish arguments, and overcome any defense that goes against God’s plan for the family.
- Create Family Standards. Establish values and rules that apply to your entire household. My wife, BerNadette, and I refer to ourselves as The Wiggins Household. The Wiggins Household has standards that we abide by no matter what. For instance, we don’t point our fingers at each other because this was once perceived as an act of aggression and led to a big fight in month 4 of our marriage. Now, we both abide by this family standard. Set a family standard for how your entire family will deal with this gender identity bathroom issue.
- What if you have a LGBT family member? I have an estranged gay nephew. As a 5 year old boy, I could tell he had feminine tendencies. He preferred playing with his younger sister’s dolls on Christmas morning rather than the balls and cars Santa brought him. I believe he’s estranged largely because of the struggle he encountered about his sexual identity. He left home around 18/19 years old and has had minimal contact with anybody in our family for 6/7 years. This is why it’s essential to set a family standard for how to deal with this issue. And the standard of love must be the highest standard of them all. You don’t have to agree with a person’s life decisions in order to love them. Especially in the Christian community.

Amazing read! We definitely have to set the standards in our families. When a man and women are considering marriage, this is a topic that should be discussed. How will we, as a family, address little Johnny when he comes homes with questions about his friend that has two daddies? Or how will we handle it if little Johnny comes home saying he likes little Joshua? At the end of the day, people are going to do what they want to do with their lives and what we are obligated to do, as Christians, is love them and pray for them.
