The way people communicate in their relationships has a lot to do with the way we were raised and what we value as necessary information to make decisions. But another area…that’s sometimes overlooked…is our profession.
Most of us received some kind of training at work to do a specific job. And that job requires a specific level of communication. At our Relationship Bootcamp, what we’re seeing now-a-days is…the communication patterns one uses at work eventually spills over to the communications on prefers to us in their relationship.
In this video of an activity at our Relationship Bootcamp, watch this couple discuss how their different communication styles at work cause communication issues in their relationship…and what they should do about it.
This is only a snippet of what this couple experienced. This activity went much longer and revealed some good and challenging things about their relationship. For, it’s designed to reveal whatever issues a couple is dealing with.
As you grow in your relationship, make sure you’re meeting the communication needs of your mate…because it’s through communication that you build trust and relational security.

Successful communication at work doesn’t mean that style of communication will be successful in your relationship. Be willing to slightly adjust your preferred communication style to fit the needs of your mate.
