NormallyI don’t go political or racial on here but the pervasiveness of the American racial system requires me to address four issues in current affairs: #1 SAE Fraternity singing racist song, #2 Ferguson firings #3 Republican’s open letter to Iran, and #4 CIAA service charge.

#1: SAE Fraternity Singing Racist Song

If you know anything about fraternities, you know they’re all about their values, beliefs, and history. Chants, songs, artifacts, etc…all have meaning. So, the song SAE in Oklahoma St. was singing about hanging “niggers from a tree before one will ever sing with me” is a long held belief passed down from generation to generation. We’re just now hearing the latest generation, thanks to cell phone cameras.

American racism is systemic. It’s was built into America’s legal, criminal, and judicial systems. It’s now being maintained clandestinely in systems like fraternities…who proselytize their students. Students then become police officers, city officials, and mayors. They create congruent system like in Ferguson, Mo. and stop-and-frisk in New York. It’s easily deniable as long as the public is unaware. But once we are, there’s mass outrage.

But what I find most amazing and laughable is how the media commentator’s responds to this story. I mean…really, is anyone SURPRISED that there are white racist men in fraternities in Oklahoma…or any city in America for that matter? Black folks aren’t. But the media acts like they are the crazy few…outliers. C’mon son. It’s America.

#2: Ferguson Firings

It was recently reported that one of the two police offers fired for sending racist email was Darren Wilson’s supervisor, Sergeant William Mudd. And, after Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown, his first call was to…guess who…his supervisor, Sergeant Mudd. Mudd was a key presenter in the Grand Jury too.

Guess who else got fired in the Ferguson police department for racist comment, the Captain, Rick Henke and the Chief Clerk of the Ferguson Court, Mary Ann Twitty. But wait, there’s more. Municipal Judge, Ronald Brockmeyer, resigned after last week’s Department of Justice report found he targeted black residents of Ferguson with fines and fees while dismissing fines of his friends and fellow Ferguson municipal employees.

This American city, ran by racist police, court clerks, and judges, is yet another example of American racist law enforcement, legal, and judicial systems. It’s no wonder why there was no trial against Darren Wilson. The American racism system prevented it. Without that Justice Department report, the system still be operating undercover and unscathed. Now, at least in Ferguson, the American racism system’s progress is being slowed down.

#3 Republican Open Letter to Iran

I think this is despicable! I am outraged at the Republicans. As a registered Independent, I’ve got no love for the Republican House or Senate right now. They’ve been nothing but big whiny babies for the last six years. A bunch of PABs. How dare you invite Israel’s Prime Minister here to oppose the Presidents policy! How dare you sabotage the negotiations with Iran with a letter to the Iranian government!

Republican Senate leader, Mitch McConnell even disclosed the American racism system’s objective from day one of the Obama presidency. Republicans were going to do everything to make sure Obama was a one term President. But Obama slipped through the cracks in the system again. Now they mad. They’ve taken off the gloves and are unleashing an all out attack on him and his Presidency. The legal system was changed to allow unending money to flow to politicians, the voting system was changed to restrict voting, which predominantly affect minorities. And now this!

King Solomon is quoted in the bible as saying, “[there’s] a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing” (Ecclesiastes 3:5), and “I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:10-11). Obama has to take the high road. Simultaneously, as leader, it’s time to cease-and-seckle this unprecedented surge of American racial systemic subversion. This country can’t stand too much longer being divided against itself. That’s what led to the Civil War. As a leader, Obama must chin-check the Republicans. I’m not savvy enough to know how to do that while still on the high road. And I’m not suggesting some Frank Underwood, House of Cards plot, but he needs to do something.

#4 CIAA Service Charge

My friend from Hampton University, Patrice Wright, was the one who got hit with that service charge at the Ritz Carlton in Charlotte during CIAA Tournament. Apparently the Ritz Carlton has an American racism economic system that justifies charging 15% extra just because a lot of black people are coming to town.

Their justification is that the CIAA “places significant demands throughout the weekend”. I use to be a waiter in high school and college. Mother’s Day places a significant demand on the weekend. But our jobs were still the same—serving food and drinks. And we didn’t charge our customers an additional service charge just because we were was busy. But the American racism system somehow justifies doing it for the CIAA.

The Ritz Carlton was asked if they add a service charge for other events. Crickets. I can’t confirm if they do or don’t, but one thing is for sure, they charge more just when black folks come to town. Well, you’ll never get my money when I visit Charlotte, Mr. Carlton.
